"What are the Hezbollah-affiliated Radwan Brigades…?"
On January 8, the electronic Rai al-Youm daily newspaper carried the following editorial: "When we, in Rai al-Youm, said on multiple instances that the Lebanese South is bracing for confrontation with the Israeli Occupation that might entail an infiltration and control over Al-Jalil in northern Palestine, many accused us of exaggeration and wishful thinking.

"Haj Hassan Hoballah, the man in charge of the Palestinian affairs in the Lebanese Hezbollah told the Russian Sputnik agency that "Israel knows that settling the battle with the Resistance front is impossible. It is terrorized by the rise of the power and role of the Lebanese Resistance, specifically by the [potential] infiltration of Al-Jalil in the northern part of Occupied Palestine by the Al-Radwan Brigades."

"This is the first time when a Hezbollah official is discussing the Al-Radwan Brigades and their new mission, mainly the mission pertaining to modifying the rules of engagement and not limiting the confrontation with the occupation state to the rockets and drones, but instead coming up with serious plans for a land incursion to seize the Palestinian Al-Jalil areas. This explains why the American administration asked the Netanyahu cabinet to halt the escalation mainly in Occupied Jerusalem in fear that confrontation might erupt in the northern front.

"There are not many available pieces of information about the Al-Radwan Brigades, the newest and perhaps most dangerous Hezbollah units. However, the available information indicates that these brigades represent an important military development. These brigades include elite Hezbollah fighters who receive military training on the highest of levels and at the hands of experts who fought field battles under the Party's flag in Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq.

"According to very well-informed sources, these units have the newest electronic equipment and experts in cyber wars. In addition, the fighters have a strong desire to fight until martyrdom… When Sayed Hassan Nasrallah set the red lines and warned the Israeli officials from infiltrating them, he cited Jerusalem and its sacred places as a top priority. It was no coincidence for Haj Hoballah to stress this point again, and to warn against any offenses to Jerusalem. He said: "This is a larger headline than Lebanon. This is the headline of the entire battle. We will not leave the Palestinian people for the Zionist wolves to prey on… The Al-Radwan Brigades: Remember this name very well because they might occupy the main headlines for the next weeks and months because we might see their flags flying over the hills of Al-Jalil. God only knows best."
