“Ali Saleh: We uncovered a conspiracy to carry out a coup against former Qatari prince…”
On June 4, the electronic Rai al-Youm daily carried the following report: “The former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh said that Yemen uncovered a conspiracy aimed at carrying out a coup against the former Prince of Qatar, Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani by Qataris supported by Saudi Arabia. In an interview with the Al-Yaman al-Youm TV channel, Saleh said that “Yemen served to uncover the conspiracy that was being weaved against the Qatari regime led by Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani by Qatari elements that wanted to carry out a coup against the prince. These elements allegedly received Saudi support.”

“Saleh added that the Saudi-Qatari conflict “is due to earlier accumulations although they all follow the Wahhabi sect.” On the other hand, Saleh valued the position of Saudi Arabia during the term of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz who dispatched a jet to help him following the assassination attempt he was subjected to. Saleh said that Iran did not bring in a single bullet to the Yemeni lands; and he indicated that all the Yemeni ballistic missiles are strategic stocks he collected when he was president according to Al-Yaman al-Youm.

“In an interview with journalists at the headquarters of the General People’s Congress Party, which he heads, Ali Abdullah Saleh said that these are the missiles of the “live martyr,” and the stocks of Saleh who had been accused of stealing 60 billion dollars as he said. The former Yemeni president insisted that these stocks will not be affected by the missiles or the jets, an indication to the Yemeni forces and the Arab alliance forces led by Al-Riyadh.

“Regarding the question on the connection between Al-Houdada port and the salaries, Saleh wondered: “What does the Al-Houdada port have to do with the salaries. Al-Hadida is a port that belongs to the Yemeni republic, an independent state. So why should it be placed under tutelage? In order to halt the smuggling of weapons?!” He then added: “All these are fake claims.” Furthermore, Ali Abdullah Saleh indicated that Yemen does not constitute a threat to the security of its neighbors. He added that all that is being said falls under false claims.

“The former Yemeni president called on the Arab Alliance to halt the air raids. He called for halting the war and concluding the siege in addition to lifting Yemen from under Chapter Seven, the pullout of all the foreign forces, and paying amends to the Yemeni people.”
